Benefits of Running
The Benefits of Running-There are many reasons to run. My favorite-Runners High-It's real and I hope you get hooked on it as soon as possible.
Their are countless reasons to run, jog and even walk. The mental benefits are my favorite, because I love the runners high. Running can actually help you if you are feeling depressed. The physical benefits are listed below.
Number one-of the benefits of running is that it feels so good when you stop, and why it feels so good is what this article is all about...
I’m an addict. I got to have it man! If I don’t get my fix I’m depressed and cranky. My drug is very inexpensive and it's legal! Yes, the “Runners High” is real.
What is Runners High?
It's my favorite of the benefits of running!!!Running really hard or really far is painful, so what does your body do? It makes a nice little pain relieving cocktail, called endorphins. Isn’t that like totally cool?
What happens during an intense workout is this. Your body notices some discomfort (as doctors like to say right before they stick you with a 6 inch needle) and floods your body with my drug of choice, Endorphins. When you stop running you no longer need the natural pain reliever but it's still floating around and it makes you feel “high” or euphoric.
Try running during your lunch hour at work and when you get back to work notice how you feel like your floating. I float like a drunken honey bee. I then say to myself, "Hey self, your really high," And my boss expects me to get something done in this state???
Party on runners…..I mean fellow addicts.

Running Benefits
Enhanced physcological well being- Endorphins will give you a rush of opiates which will lead to a feeling of well being right after a good run. I pretty much covered that one.
Weight loss is a great benefit- You will lose weight unless of course you are eating too many calories, or in some cases too much beer. (Sometimes beer and running are close companions) I do not recommend drinking too much of the brew if you want to lose weight.
More Physical Benefits of Running
These are adaptive physiologic responses to Cardiorespiratory exercise.
Decreased resting heart rate.
Increased heart volume.

Even More Benefits of Running Jogging and Walking
Some Doctors actually prescribe running to their patience who suffer from osteoporosis, diabetes, hypertension and depression. They know that it strengthens bones, helps enhance mood, lowers blood pressure and more.
Running burns more calories per minute than any other form of cardiorespiratory exercise, with one exception Cross Country Skiing, which by the way would be an awesome cross training sport if you live where it snows.
How about anti aging. Besides preventing bone loss and encouraging bone building, running also promotes human growth hormone. This is the stuff that celebrities are paying money to get injections of.
