Reclaiming My Inner Person

by Shaune Cameron

My Gear!

My Gear!

I'm 43 mother of 3 and grandma of 3. I have been obese ever since I was 7. My weight in my early 20's shot up to 250lbs.

I ended up losing 100 lbs in a matter of a few months by eating no more than 1200 in a day and working out everyday sometimes two or three times a day...just went crazy!

The more I lost the harder I worked. I looked great at my goal weight of 150 lbs as I have huge muscles. I eventually gained all the weight back and more 267 lbs after quitting smoking for 30 years.

I've flirted with working out and "dieting" all my life...until now it has become more like a marriage. I eat sensible, wholesome, low fat foods, jog 1.5 miles every second day and work out at my gym on the alternative days.

I have lost 64 lbs, after recovering from surgery enough to work out, a year ago; I started jogging in Sept/08. I started out slow walk, jog, walk, and jog but ended up jogging the 1.5 miles quite quickly 5-6 weeks.

I'm eagerly anticipating reaching and maintaining my goal weight! I'm so glad that I chose running for my cardio...I just love it! Thanks for all the helpful tips I received from Coach Carvey's Running Tips

Still an amateur but always putting my best foot forward!!
