Running People Testimonials

From Middle Aged Marshmallow

To Baby Booming Fitness God

NEW! Join the Running People Club!

Do you have an inspirational running tale to tell? If so go to my Running People
Club Page and build your own testimonial to running, jogging or walking Any great story that you think will inspire someone's desire to perspire.

Coach Carvey,

Do you think you can help me? I want to become a baby booming fitness god?

YES! I've done it before....

This Is Him Babying Out

I took a pudgy 280 lb. gray haired co-worker...

and under my slow and careful coaching made him a member.

Eventually he was running 3 miles non stop in 90 degree heat.

Now there were days where he babied out so bad I told him he should have been looking for his rattle and bwanky on the hill.

He would get really mad when I suggested he should run in diapers. He would take a swing at me, I would always duck and then we would hug.

runner or biker you be the judge

Another fine addition to the club...

is a Harley Davidson riding ex-skier with a gray ponytail, bad knees, bad back, on the bad side of 40 (bad bad bad), and under my slow and careful coaching he was running 4-6 miles three times a week, NO DIAPERS NEEDED!

So if you have gray hair and wanna know how to start a slow buildup from walking, jogging to eventually running, read on.

If you want to follow some other plan which will lead you to a series of injuries, and have you standing in the rain, naked and crying out... "Lord! Lord! Why didn't I follow Coach Carvey's plan? He didn't even want my money?" Then go right ahead.

Testimonials From Family Members

~Lorelie Carvey~

"Scott a.k.a. "The Sweetness" has a passion for running like no one I have ever known."

Very soon after we met, Sweet tried to add me to the Running People Club too. He gave me my first pair of running sneakers (Saucony) along with a tape of the music from "Chariots Of Fire."

Very sneaky! He started me running right away. I was excited about this running thing, but then I discovered my true calling for sports, bodybuilding.

My passion for large muscles outweighed my passion for tiny muscles! Sorry Coach Carvey! Nice try though.

~Your Buff Wife Lorelie~

~Chad Carvey~

My dad tried the same thing on me.

It worked for a while but then I discovered my own sport. It was much cooler!

Aggressive Inline Skating Club was a lot cooler than the Running People Club.

Sorry Dad

I appreciate the effort!

~Your totally awesome son Chad~

Let's Hear From Coach Carvey's Track And Field Friends

Pat Crandall~ national age group medalist and championship winning high school coach~

Pat Crandall, national age group medalist and championship winning high school coach

I have been a runner off-and-on for many years, but usually find running tedious and frankly, boring. But I decided to give Mr. Carvey's advice a shot (he's a track and field nut like myself, and knows the sport inside and out), and lo and behold, it works!

Pat Crandall

His practical advice and EXTREMELY bizarre sense of humor are the prefect combination to get me out the door to get fit and lose weight. Everyone needs a gimmick to run, and Scott Carvey is MY gimmick! Now I can say that I too am a member of the "Running People Club."

Maureen Parker~national record holder and coach~

Maureen Parker, national record holder and coach

As a former national record holder for the hurdles and now a coach here in Canada I have a great desire to stay as fit and healthy as possible.

Turning 50 this year I realize that my body is changing and I can no longer take my good health and fitness for granted.

I am not really a long distance runner but find that slow, even paced running is easier on my body than full out sprinting. I came with the mindset that jogging is boring, but with Coach Carvey's motivational tips and humourous ancedotes I am learning that jogging can be fun.

I like how Coach Carvey emphasizes listening to your body and that progression must be gradual and gentle. I have a tendency to want to go full out all the time but like I said age is now becoming a factor and I must learn to listen to my body. Coach Carvey is down to earth and sensible though sometimes so off the wall you have to wonder about him!......:-) Naw he is the best there is for instilling a love for running and fitness and being the best you can be. I appreciated being able to talk to him when my body and mind are ready to give up and become a couch potato.

Coach Carvery is a great listener. He is never harsh or judgmental.

I wish I could be a speedy hurdler again but those days are behind me...oh and speaking of behinds, Coach Carvey has promised mine will be smaller and firmer if I keep to the program. I am holding him to it, and am now proud to be a member of his club of running people.

When I learned through the grapevine that such accomplished athletes as a master record holder and champion or an Olympian high jumper used Coach Carvey as their personal trainer, I did not hesitate for a moment to give my own testimonial. True, he is not as good to look at as my previous Y instructor Miss Katie, but the results were well worth it. I shed 20 lbs., toned up and I feel great. My wife is thrilled with my new looks and energy. I could not complete a 1/2 mile circle around the neighborhood, now I can easily do 10 rounds. Mind you, I am almost 70. Thank you, Coach Carvey, you are the best. I am proud to be in your Running People Club.

Back in the day I was a 4:24 miler and weighed 140 pounds. That day was a long time ago. When I first met Coach Carvey a few years ago I was up to 210 pounds and had a permanently damaged hamstring. After extensive work using Coach Carvey’s patented techniques I am 210 pounds and have a permanently damaged hamstring. I owe all of this astounding improvement to Scott’s dedication to my training program and overall good health! Thanks, buddy – the next brew is on me!!Can I still be part of the Running People Club? (Oh, did I mention that he is funny?? I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon watching the 2007 Track & Field World Championships on the HD TV with Scott and his baby brother. Scott is way funnier! Taller too!)
