What Kind Of Running Sneakers Should I Buy Coach?

Good ones, because you're worth it!Running sneakers may be ugly, but a good pair of jogging shoes will help protect your feet and legs from running injuries.

There's a whole lot of running shoes around and no shortage of ugly. The more you pay the uglier they are. They are over-priced and over-produced footwear flops. Just give me a nice simple shoe which matches my nice simple brain...thank you.

I know we are starting out walking but we're not going to buy walking shoes. We are going to buy running shoes because they are great for walking and running.

Buy brand new running sneakers, never used. Don't pay over 50 bucks unless your fabulously rich. You can get very good shoes for $50.00. Try on a lot of them and walk around. You'll know which one feels right.

Don't walk or jog in old running shoes. They may look newish but the cushioning is gone and we can't have that. Keep track of when you bought the shoes so you know how far you walked/jogged in them. I would replace them every 350-500 miles.

Running Sneakers Tips

  • A good pair of running sneakers should have adequate sole, good heel support, and sufficient sole flexibility.
  • Buy your shoes at a specialty running shop. The salespeople will most likely have a lot of knowledge because they are usually runners themselves.
  • As a general rule, their should be a finger width of space for your big toe in the box of the shoe. Your foot swells as you run so you need a little extra room their.
  • Change your running shoes every 350-500 miles, you can use them for everyday shoes at this point. Once the soles and heels start to show signs of wear they will not support you properly.
  • Do not buy shoes that are too loose or constrictive.
  • Make sure your shoes have strong laces, but be careful not to tighten them too much or not enough, this can lead to a loss of stability and over pronation.
  • Do not wear brand new sneakers for a race. You need to run in them for a while first to break them in a bit.
  • Are you a trail runner?

    Helpful Definitions

  • Pronation is the rolling inward of your foot as as you run. It is normal for the foot to land on the outside of the heel. The foot then rolls to the forefoot and inside of the foot.
  • Over-pronation is when your foot rolls excessively inwards as you run.
  • Supination is when your foot rolls outwards.
  • Flat Foot means you have a low arch, This also means that you probably over pronate when running. You will need to be fitted specifically to reduce that tendency, because it can lead to serious injury.
  • A High Arch indicates a high likelihood of under-pronation. You should choose a flexible and well cushioned neutral shoe.
